Many of them are stock photos from the "Sozaijiten / Material Dictionary" series by Japanese company Image Navi Corporation, and the Korean website Asadal. All images used were found by browsing the web, if you are a copyright holder and want an image removed, please contact me.
A large collection of official wallpapers and rejected artwork of the Windows 7 operating system, released by Microsoft in 2009. These images were meant to accompany various themes, such as "Landscapes" and "Nature". There were also themes for various countries. Learn more about them here.

Madobe Nanami is an anthropomorphic personification of Windows 7 created in 2009, also called an OS-tan (tan たん being an intentional mispronunciation of Chan ちゃん). Her name is a wordplay; 窓辺 (Madobe) meaning by the window, and ななみ (Nanami) being a name derived from a pronunciation of seven in Japanese. She was made by Wakaba, voiced by Nana Mizuki.
She is officially recognized by Microsoft Japan, and was even included in some Windows 7 Ultimate Edition bundles. The premium set including a theme featuring 3 Nanami wallpapers, 19 event sound sets, and a CD with 5 extra Nanami sounds, and the regular DSP edition featuring a digest Windows 7 theme including a Nanami wallpaper, and an event sound set.
